"It's a mixture - it's Cajun, but not too traditional, it's Zydeco with a pinch of New Orleans' sound, a small pinch of South Louisiana 'Swamp Pop', a taste of Country and a little Rock n' Roll, that's sure to get you on your feet and dancing."

Born in Louisiana's "Bayou Country" just a few miles southwest of New Orleans, Houma native Waylon Thibodeaux, has been dubbed "Louisiana's Rockin' Fiddler". Today, this talented, self-taught Cajun musician has gained a notable reputation as one of Louisiana's best known recording artists. His talents have led him to play festivals, clubs and other special events throughout the United States, Canada, France, Central and South America. His rollicking, crowd-pleasing performance on stage is exactly what one would expect from someone who, at age 16, was Louisiana's state fiddle champion. He never fails to serve up a good helping of spicy, high-energy Louisiana and Cajun/Zydeco music. His unique musical style is best described by Thibodeaux himself:
"It's a mixture - it's Cajun, but not too traditional, it's Zydeco with a pinch of New Orleans' sound, a small pinch of South Louisiana 'Swamp Pop', a taste of Country and a little Rock n' Roll, that's sure to get you on your feet and dancing."
Any way he plays it, Thibodeaux's music certainly gets one's attention. Waylon’s latest CD is "Who's Yo' Cher Be' Be'", released April 9th in Louisiana and is schedualed for a national roll out in June on Rabadash Records. This release showcases Waylon’s depth and versatility as he performs his unique brand of progressive Cajun music, seasoned with elements of Zydeco, Rock, Country and a sprinkle of the traditional in just the right places. You’ve heard it before, but it really is true – this CD has something for everyone. Teaming up with Rabadash Records Waylon has brought in songs by million seller song writers Thomas Shepard, Gordon Bradberry, Anders Osborne, and Pulitzer Prize winning team of Ken Wells and his brother Pershing. This CD is an attempt to have some songs that are more aimed at a national market with out losing what's unique about Waylon's Cajun background.
He has three CD’s that were previously released on Rockin' River Records. Papa Thibodeaux with Blues guitarist Tab Benoit and harmonica virtuoso Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone join Waylon on the toe-tapping cut "Be For Sure", written by Sansone. If that combination doesn’t make you get up and dance, nothing will! Waylon even adds a Spanish selection to his usual combination of French and English vocal performances. "Papa Thibodeaux" is truly a one-of-a-kind must-have for your Louisiana music collection. The CD, In Jackson Square is a powerful mixture of Cajun, country, zydeco and New Orleans style music that Waylon sings in English. The other CD, Tu Me Fais Crier! is completely sung in French and contains the theme song for the 1999 international reunion known as "Congres Mondial Acadian". Both of these recordings give listeners a real taste of good high-energy Louisiana music. Along with six earlier independent releases to his credit, three of his original English compositions were included on a 1995 compilation album by Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville/Island Records entitled, Margaritaville Cafe New Orleans - Late Night Gumbo. Thibodeaux released an independent acoustic album with Gina Forsythe, entitled Dans La Louisiane. This CD, a collection of traditional Cajun French songs, won the 1996 OffBeat Magazine’s Best of the Beat Award for Best Cajun album. Thibodeaux has also performed in numerous radio and television commercials and four of his original compositions were featured in the 1993 NBC movie, House of Secrets.
As a way of giving back to the unique culture that helped to cultivate his gifts as an entertainer, Waylon performs as a member of the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars. This group, comprised of Dr. John, Cyril Neville, Tab Benoit, Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone, George Porter, Jr., Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Anders Osborne, Johnny Vidacovich and Waylon Thibodeaux, performs throughout the country to raise awareness of the erosion of the Gulf Coast wetlands, doing their part to preserve their heritage as proud citizens of Louisiana.
Having played for years to filled-to-capacity crowds on New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street, Thibodeaux has literally entertained people from all over the world. Fiercely proud of his Acadian heritage, he keeps his home base in southeast Louisiana, always striving to perfect his style of music. A versatile entertainer, Thibodeaux can charm his audiences in French and/or English. His is always a "must see" performance.

Serabee Brings It Home This Year With Her Holiday Song "This Christmas"

"I was born on Saturday and singing on Sunday," as Sera so aptly puts it. "Music is in my blood, and the road I've traveled can't help but form my music."

It's true; her voice will remind you of love, pain, and laughter all at once.

The holidays have been hard for all of us for the past two years, and we all are ready to have a magical season this year. So, grab a cup of holiday cheer, light up the house with friends and family as Serabee's song "This Christmas" fills your heart on the living room stereo.

Sera's lush voice of pure joy is bringing us together once again. Reminding us to live in the moment for life is fleeting.

The song was written by Serabee and recorded in 2020 at Rabadash Studios in Covington, LA, where she and producer John Autin were working. Engineer Marc Hewitt secretly hit the record button to let the song flow as Serabee sat at the piano. It was an impulse moment that will forever be a lasting memory for the songstress.

After that initial recording, John Autin added other instruments to the sparse arrangement to produce its rich sound. Players on "This Christmas" are Dave Easley on Dobro, Nick Necaise on Organ/B3, and Lance Seymour on Guitar, and John added various sounds with Bass Guitar, strings, and bells, as well. Serabee did all the Background Vocals. The video was reshot at the studios, with Sho Hogg Productions overlapping images of Serabee roaming around the beautiful Southern Hotel in Downtown Covington.

Sera hails direct from the Kiln, Mississippi, with the wandering strains of roadhouse blues and rollicking revivals psychically embedded in her songs. Irresistible, pop, country, and R&B adorned in her soulful vocal presence and piano playing. As a singer, songwriter, and musician, the creative edge of Sera points to this soulful artist's deep roots and colorful background in the American South.

Sera began her career performing in New Orleans & Mississippi clubs, where she garnered quite a local following. The soulful songstress created two independent recordings catching the attention of veteran music industry executives. She was signed to major label Universal Republic and Sony, where she released an EP (Serabee) and had the iTunes single of the week, "Driving Me Stupid." She also became a finalist on the first season of "The Voice" as Serabee on Blake Shelton's team.

Since signing with Rabadash in 2021, Serabee is confident that this path will give her a renewed hope to carry her career forward. Sera hopes this southern, soulful direction will finally be the sound that her fans and the world will know her for.

    • About Rabadash Records

Rabadash Records, one of the oldest independent labels in the country, celebrated its 35th anniversary year of making great music in 2019. May we enjoy another 35 years!

The label's primary focus since their very first release has been a commitment to preserving the music of New Orleans and southern Louisiana with works by legacy artists and new performers who embody the Crescent City's rich musical traditions.

Rabadash started almost by accident; it wasn't even conceived until label co-founder John Autin found himself on the outside looking in on a spoiled album deal. "We just fell into it," Autin recalls. "I started Rabadash with singer, Nora Wixtead, who was my girlfriend at the time. We had negotiated a deal for Nora's album, were ready to sign, and the label called us up at the last second and told us they were signing a different singer instead. Since we already had all the tapes, the artwork and everything, we decided to start our own damn label! We released Nora's CD and then immediately recorded legendary piano player and singer, Al Broussard. He was almost 78 at the time and had never been recorded before even though he'd been playing on Bourbon Street since the 1920's.

Those two records came out in 1984 and we were off and running. We started off doing two or three releases a year, but we had to go dark for a while due to Hurricane Katrina. We didn't do anything for a few years, but we came back about 10 years ago. Three years ago we partnered with studio builder Dirk Billie and built Rabadash Recording Studio , and now we’re able to do about six releases a year and record other non-Rabadash artists in our world class facility." Welcome to the Rabadash world of amazing music!
